School in IN!

Yesterday was my first day of school and I could not be happier! It's such a kick to be actually doing what you've dreamt of for so long. The school is beautiful, right on a canal and very professional and well organized. They actually take our temperature every day with this funky little forehead reader to make sure none of us are sick before going to school. They provide us with bananas and herbal tea made from a local fruit and we begin every lesson with a prayer to the Buddha, the King and the teacher as well as meditation and stretching. Almost every country is represented here its pretty amazing! Africa, Switzerland, Holland, Latvia, Philipines, USA, Russia, to name a few. People from all walks of life - some with lots of massage experience, some with none looking to find a new career, a couple of physiotherapists and yoga teachers. Our first day was mostly about orientation but we got our hands right into the massage portion by the end. Already the techniques are very different from what I've learned in Canada. I'm going to learn so much and I'm so happy to be here.
